Roger Federer Will Go Under The Knife Without A Return Date

The ordeal of Roger Federer with his knee continues and the Swiss has announced that he is going to have surgery with the aim of recovering the sensations that allow him to enjoy again on the track at 40 years of age. This ailment, which forced him to get off such important goals as the US Open and the Olympics, will now force him to say goodbye to this season.

If Federer's near future was already concerned , with this new setback all the alarms go off and it is that the Helvetian has completed one of his grayer seasons, having played 13 games and lost four of them. The last one, the defeat in the Wimbledon quarter-finals against Hubert Hurkacz of Poland: 

I have to let you know that I will be off the slopes for many months. I want to give myself a ray of hope to get back in the game in some way. I will have to have surgery again. and I will be on crutches for many weeks. I will try to come back as strong as possible

Although there are many unknowns, Federer is realistic and is perfectly aware of the risks that the intervention can entail. 

Since Wimbledon I have been in several check-ups with the doctors, trying to get more information, because the injury got worse during the grass season and I couldn't continue like this. I know it's the right thing to do because I want to be healthy and play again
