Messi Suffers A Knee Injury || Did Pochettino Try To Protect Him?

Two days after his controversial change against Lyon, PSG has made public that Leo Messi will not be able to play this Wednesday against Metz due to a sore left knee . The club has reported that he has symptoms of a bone contusion and will be retested in 48 hours to determine if he can return to the pitch.

The former Barcelona footballer was replaced in the absence of a quarter of an hour last Sunday at the Parque de los Príncipes and showed his surprise at the change decided by Mauricio Pochettino , who after the duel gave no explanations about it. However, PSG leaked that the coach wanted to preserve him after having suffered a hard tackle a few minutes before.

The player was limping slightly the next day and did not train with the rest of his teammates, according to L'Équipe. Therefore, he was subjected to medical tests that detected this possible injury.

THE REASONS FOR THE CHANGE

After the PSG statement, Pochettino already offered his version of the controversial change: " We from the side saw that he was checking his knee. We were happy with his game, he had made a great first half and he only missed the goal. But, with all that information, we made the decision to change him, "he explained at a press conference.

The replacement of Messi for technical reasons, the first since March 2010 without his team having a clear advantage, raised many comments in Paris, fueled by the surprised gestures of the player when he left the field, hardly greeting the coach.

PSG also reported that Italian Marco Verratti resumed the race in training this Tuesday, while Sergio Ramos "continues his individual preparation on the field."
