The Muslim footballer Denied Reports That He Had Refused To Represent France

Manchester United's world-renowned Muslim footballer Paul Pogba has denied reports that French President Emmanuel Macron has refused to represent France over anti-Islamic remarks.

In his post on Instagram, Paul Pogba called the news baseless and said that he had neither said nor thought so.

The footballer says that he is very angry and frustrated that some media outlets are using me for baseless headlines to drag the French team into a very sensitive subject.

Pogba says he opposes all forms of violence and terrorism, and that some members of the media are irresponsible in their coverage of the news, abusing the freedom of the press and not thinking that What effect will it have on someone's life?

The French Muslim footballer has also announced legal action against those who published and spread false news.

It may be recalled that the British newspaper The Sun had claimed that Pogba had refused to represent France over the anti-Islamic statement made by Paul Pogba.

A report published on an Arab website said that Pogba's decision not to play for France came after President Macron received France's highest honor for a teacher killed by a Muslim man for showing blasphemous sketches to students.

Paul Pogba, who made his international debut in 2013, was also part of the French team that won the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

English football club Manchester United bought Paul Pogba from Italian club Juventus in 2016 for a record 89.3 million euros, the most expensive purchase ever.
