UFC 254: Khabib Announces Retirement After Victory

In the Mixed Martial Arts (UFC Fight 254) match, Russian-born Muslim fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated American fighter Justin Gatje in the second round, after which he announced his retirement.

The regular start of the fight between the two fighters started at 1 pm Pakistan time. Khabeeb has already attacked his opponent Justin Gatje from the first round. Khabeeb won the match in the second round.

This was the first fight since the death of Khabib Nurmagomedov's coach (who was also his father), while Khabib fought his last fight in 2019 against Dustin Poirier, which he won.

Prior to this fight, Khabib Nurmagomedov had participated in 28 UFC fights and remained undefeated.

At the end of the match, Khabib announced his retirement from mixed martial arts, saying that this was his last fight and that he was grateful to his team mates, including the UFC management, for staying with him.

Khabib Nurmagomedov remained undefeated for 12 years, losing one by one to his rivals.

In the last fight in Abu Dhabi, Khabib also defeated his American rival Justin Giche in the second round.

In addition, in 2018, Khabib also faced McGregor and this match was also won by Khabib.

According to the World News Agency, lightweight world champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who started his career in 2008, announced his retirement after defeating Justin Geche of the United States in the second half in his last fight.

It was the first match of his 12-year career that the world champion played without his father, who was also his teacher and coach. Overwhelmed by his father's loss, he retired from muscat martial arts shortly after the match.

The 32-year-old martial arts champion pushed back his American opponent in the second half and took off his gloves, saying it was his last fight in the UFC. Khabib Nurmagomedov remained unbeaten during his career, a record.

After my father's death, I had to come alone to play the match, which is very painful, so I had already announced my retirement from my mother after the match," Khabib Nurmagomedov told the media after the match. Permission was obtained.

It should be noted that in July this year, the father of the martial arts champion and coach Abdulnap Nurmagomedov died due to COVID-19.
