Hamilton Infected with The Corona Virus

Lewis Hamilton (35) will miss the penultimate race of the Formula 1 season.

As it became known on Tuesday morning, the Englishman was infected with the corona virus and is now in quarantine at home.

At the Bahrain Grand Prix, which was overshadowed by Roman Grosjean's bad accident , Hamilton celebrated its fifth win in a row. In any case, the 35-year-old has been crowned world champion for the seventh time in two weeks.

Hamilton woke up on Monday after numerous negative tests with mild symptoms. At the same time, the seven-time world champion was informed "that a contact person with whom he was in contact before his arrival in Bahrain was subsequently tested positive," said Mercedes. The test carried out at Hamilton was positive, and another confirmed the result.

Gutierrez or Vandoorne?

Formula 1 will be in Sakhir this coming weekend, and the last curtain will fall a week later in Abu Dhabi.

Then Hamilton could be there again depending on the course of the disease. Mercedes has not yet announced who will replace Hamilton in Sakhir.

We will announce our plans for a replacement driver for the upcoming weekend in the further course

announced the racing team.

Substitute Mercedes drivers are Belgian Stoffel Vandoorne (28) and Esteban Gutierrez (29) from Mexico. According to Mercedes, Vandoorne will contest a Formula E test in Valencia on Tuesday and will then travel to Bahrain, as was previously planned.
