Guardiola on Liverpool: "They were stronger last year"

Before the top game against leaders Liverpool, Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola made an admission - and made an interesting comparison with the US election.

At least one thing has in common Guardiola and his seemingly eternal opponent Jürgen Klopp :

The duel between the vice-champions and champions - or tenth against first - neither of them wanted to attach too much importance on matchday 8.

There are still a lot of games to play, each of which counts - just like every vote in the election for US President,

said Guardiola at the press conference before the top game with the most recent reference.

"You are the favorite"

They were stronger last year

admitted the Catalan, who will still have to do without his regular center forward Sergio Aguero against the reigning champions, who will also top the Premier League table in 2020/21: "He's not ready. Not yet."

Regardless of staff - the Reds also have to do without Virgil van Dijk or Thiago, for example - there will "always be moments against a team like Liverpool in which you have to suffer. We have to use our chances," demands Guardiola, who on Sunday sees it as a slight underdog:

There are a lot of top teams this year, but they are the favorites.
